Freshers Week is one of the most exciting weeks of the academic calendar, especially for brand new students moving to the city! Red Cardinal Music will be hosting this year’s Manchester Alternative Freshers Fair at The Bread Shed on Tuesday 20th September.
The event will help freshers, and those who want to learn more about the rock and metal scene, to find out about Manchester’s best alternative clothing brands, tattoo artists, clubnights, artists and more.
Exhibitors will be announced nearer the time.
Red Cardinal Music DJs will be playing a mix of rock, alternative, metal and emo throughout both events while people browse stalls and chat all things alternative.
The events will be free entry and will both run from 12pm until 5pm.

In addition to the normal mix of guilty pleasures, power ballads and cringeworthy chart toppers Teenage Dream DJs will be playing the biggest hits and forgotten gems from the 90s.

Teenage Dream celebrated International Women’s Day 2020 by hosting an event at home venue The Font in Manchester featuring a whole night of music from strong female artists from the past, present and future of Pop. The event was run in association with the fantastic Manchester-based charity The Pankhurst Trust, an organisation dedicated to promoting female equality whilst providing a helping hand to women who suffering from abuse or hardship.
Throughout the night donation buckets were circulated to raise money for the charity. In addition to this, The Font donated £2 from each IWD cocktail special to the cause. Overall, the teams raised £181.76 for charity.

Teenage Dream is a guilty pleasures night playing the best in power ballads and cringeworthy chart toppers from the 80s, 90s and 00s. For the International Women’s Day Special there will be a focus around showcasing the strongest females, past and present, in the music industry.
During the night, alongside their usual quirky affordable cocktails, The Font mixologists will be mixing up three special cocktails – Miss Americana, Cup of Ambition and Lemonade. £1 from each of these cocktails will be donated to The Pankhurst Trust.
In addition to the special cocktails, there will be opportunities throughout the night to donate to the charity in collection buckets.
Bekki Connolly, DJ at Teenage Dream, said: “Music has always been a great way for women to express themselves and their strengths so combining International Women’s Day with a musical element was a no brainer!”
She added: “The Pankhurst Trust is a fantastic cause. From its dedication to spreading the word of the inspirational historical figures who helped women to find their voices, to the support given to women in need, the impact that the charity has is invaluable to the community. This made it the obvious fundraising choice for such an important event in equality calendar.”

Teenage Dream are taking over The Font in Manchester City Centre to bring in the New Year 2020 with all things cheesy.
To celebrate the end of a fantastic decade of music, the Teenage Dream DJs will be playing the best of 2010s for the hour in the lead up to the New Year countdown. For the rest of the night party goers can expect the usual (or unusual!) cocktail of guilty pleasures, power ballads and cringeworthy chart toppers.
The Font’s fantastic team will be dishing out all fan favourite cocktails – there’s over 60 starting at just £2.50 – and a handful of special cocktails just for the New Year.
