Violent Life Violent Death join Red Cardinal Music for UK bookings

Violent Life Violent Death join Red Cardinal Music

Charlotte NC based metalcore band Violent Life Violent Death have joined Red Cardinal Music for all future bookings in the UK.

Inspired by bands such as Every Time I Die, Hatebreed, A Life Once Lost & Zao, Violent Life Violent Death combine visceral vocals and intricate “fight riffs” to create their late 1990’s/early 2000’s sound with a new-school approach.

Despite their short time as a band, members of Violent Life Violent Death have a wealth of experience in past projects including Deception of a Ghost (Trustkill/Bullet Tooth), A Stained Glass Romance (Torque/Victory), and Aria (Tribunal).

Their first studio album “V-EP,” recorded at Rareform Recordings, was self-released in December 2016 to a fantastic reception.

Violent Life Violent Death - V-Ep“Violent Life Violent Death play a brand of crushingly heavy hardcore that relies as much on songwriting as it does brutality. V-EP is a formidable debut and a record that leaves you wanting more from the band.” – Lamb Goat

“The vocals from Scott Cowan have an extreme metal flair to them, and when mixed with the band’s more eloquent guitar work, the band are clearly fans of metal, yet V-EP, has sections where the rhythm takes a real two-stepable turn plus buildups amongst plenty of heavy hardcore elements thrown into the mix, especially in the verses. The entire EP shows off the band’s technical craft, whether that’s through the band’s intricate riffage or Cowan’s vocals, down to the songwriting itself, the EP is five tracks of pure venom and brutal aggression. Tracks like Straight Teeth, and Silver Eyes both mix rapid instrumentals that create an air of turmoil in the track below Cowan’s rancorous vocals, but the tracks then go to more succinct and groove centric fields that suits the band just as well, and the tracks still feel one and brilliant.” – Invicta Mag

VLVD are known in the US as a band with a fantastic life show.

“I’ve seen these guys several times now and they just keep getting better. Their stage presence gets better each time, and their sound gets tighter and tighter. Their sound is definitely a throwback to the early 2000’s metalcore that was huge in NC, without being boring; it sounds familiar, while still sounding very new.” – Shutter 16

Liam Connolly, UK booking agent, said: “Violent Life Violent Death are a fantastic band with a huge live show and I am very excited to be working with them. You can expect to see a full UK tour announced soon!”

Everyday Sidekicks New EP Hope

Everyday Sidekicks Hope Tour - Red Cardinal Music

Post-hardcore quartet Everyday Sidekicks have released their EP ‘Hope’.

Discussing the title and overarching theme of the record, vocalist Archie Hatfield comments: “Hope to us is a hugely important factor in life. You constantly have obstacles thrown at you that you need to overcome, times change and sometimes it’s not always good things that come your way. Without Hope for things to get better, life can get on top of you.”

Completed by Guitarist Tim Brown, Bassist Sam Hughes and Drummer Mat Capper, the post-hardcore crew are aware that their name may be puzzling: “Everyday Sidekicks has always been a strange name to people, but to us it’s just a representation of the little guy. We wanted our music to relate to everyone in some way and we feel everyone can relate to the Sidekick in a comic book: never quite being the hero but you’re always there when you are needed, standing by through thick and thin, no matter how tough the road ahead can get.”

Forming from a shared bond of wanting to make music since childhood, the release of debut EP ‘The Things I’ve Seen’, led to slots supporting the likes of Marmozets, Slaves (UK) and Coldrain.

Recording the newly released sophomore at Monnow Valley Studios with Tom Manning, has seen the band make a huge jump. Themeatically the band are attempting to avoid becoming ‘a one trick pony’ and so keep things diverse, with Hope spanning topics from heartbreak to the state of the world.

Suppleness doesn’t end at the lyrics either – although they can be currently best typified as post-hardcore – the band reveal “our sound is a lot more flexible than most artists in our local scene and for our future releases, as we combine several different styles of music. We aim to create our own sound as much as possible, but you can always tell hints of our influences in our music, such as A Day To Remember and Beartooth. We like to think of ourselves as a blend of teeth gritting hardcore mixed with the pop punk roots that we all come from.”

Whilst the pop punk influence may be subtle, at least at this stage, there is no denying the aggression and venom, despite the hopeful outlook.

Hatfield concludes: “We feel that “HOPE” has really seen us push this band to the next level, the songs have a lot more energy and really work well with our playing style and we feel a lot comfier in this area of music. This EP is something we are incredibly proud of and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed writing it!”
