After half a year of clubs being closed, Deadbolt returned after a 16 month lockdown break on July 30th for the first of two 10th birthday specials. The rest of the year saw the likes of Tasmin Taylor, Sean Smith, Jon Mahon, Unusual Horror, Grimm Oddities, Unusual Horror and Fireball join the festivities but it’s not over just yet. The year will close on December 4th at Night People in Manchester with The End Of Year Bash.
Deadbolt regular Sean Smith (Sappenin’ Podcast, Raiders and ex-The Blackout) will once again take the decks in the main room alongside LJC, Bekkiness and Ron Blanco.
Room 2 sees the return of the baby of the RCM family, Catalyst – the music policy is pure nostalgia with an aim to remind people of the music that introduced them to the alternative scene. A warm hug from a golden time.
Classic Deadbolt games and competitions will be taking place all night, with winners having the chance to win entry to every Deadbolt event in 2022 in any city amongst other surprises.
Between 12am and 1am the main room will host a MySpace Power Hour, meaning it’ll be nothing but music from the era that fashion forgot – the mid / late 2000 scene phase. Since the first ever Deadbolt MySpace Party in 2011, the night has never forgotten where it came from. Expect to hear bands such as Metro Station, Cute Is What We Aim For, My Chemical Romance, From First To Last and Brokencyde amongst other guilty pleasures.
“It’s certainly been a strange year, until Spring we didn’t even know if we’d ever get the chance to throw another party!” said Deadbolt founder and DJ Liam Connolly, “It felt so good to come back, and it’s been so much fun since then. We’re honoured to bring the very best in Alt DJs to our nights wherever they are, it’s a real pleasure. We plan on ending this unusual year on a real high!”
